How Des Arc Arrests Work
Two agencies do the heavy lifting. Des Arc Police Department handles municipal policing. The Prairie County Sheriff's Office runs Prairie County Jail, also called Prairie County Detention Center. A Des Arc arrest can end in county booking. The jail then opens the booking record. The roster may list "Des Arc Police Department" in its "Arrested By" field. That field only names the arresting agency. The city neither hosts the booking card nor controls the county booking photo.
Des Arc sits as Prairie County's northern county seat. The 2020 Census counted 1,905 residents, its largest incorporated place. A city police report describes the stop, the call, or the investigation. The jail record covers intake, custody, listed charges, and bond fields. A Prairie County court record tracks the case from there. Because De Valls Bluff shares county-seat duties, don't assume every county matter is filed in Des Arc. Use the court location or case number instead.
Records, not verdicts: the jail file is a record of a booking. The court file tells the rest of the story.
Where Des Arc Arrests Appear
The city of Des Arc publishes no daily arrest log. No structured booking blotter exists either. The city's live feed carries general municipal updates. It posts no complete arrest list with fixed fields and a stated time window. Start with the county sources. News outlets and commercial indexes can point to a lead. But the official record lives elsewhere.
| Channel | What it covers | Photo | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Inmates | People shown in Prairie County jail custody | Observed on public cards | Official sheriff roster interface |
| New Inmates | Bookings in the portal’s last 48 hours | Observed, but not guaranteed | Official short-window source |
| Recent Releases | Releases during the prior 48 hours | Observed in results | Official release trace |
| Des Arc live feed | Selected city notices | No booking-photo policy found | Official, but not an arrest log |
| Grand Prairie Herald | Selected Des Arc and county stories | Story-dependent | Independent weekly news, incomplete |
The public roster is a county-wide animal. A name can drop off the New Inmates view after its rolling window, sit in Current Inmates, or slide into Recent Releases. None of those moves tells you how a charge ended. For the docket and disposition, use Search ARCourts.
Find a Des Arc Booking
Match the search to the person's likely custody state. The county roster offers sort, name-selection, page-size, and pagination controls. It does not promise a complete historical name search. Compare more than a name: age, arrest time, arresting agency, and listed charges separate people who share one.
- Open New Inmates for a recent Des Arc arrest. Remember that its actual window is 48 hours, not a strict calendar day.
- Check Current Inmates if the person may still be confined, then Recent Releases if a bond or release may have occurred.
- Look for Des Arc Police Department in the “Arrested By” field, while allowing for sheriff, state, or other agency involvement.
- Search Prairie County records in Search ARCourts and narrow by the correct court location when possible.
- For a missing or formal record, ask the city for its incident report and the sheriff’s custodian for the jail booking record and photograph.
Fresh arrests can lag. Intake data take time to enter, and the vendor page refreshes on its own schedule. No update clock or weekend schedule is posted. Someone released quickly can still appear in the 48-hour New Inmates list while no longer counting as a current inmate. For county-wide distinctions, use the Prairie County recent-arrests hub.
Des Arc Arrest Record Requests
Ask the agency that holds the record. Des Arc Police Department may hold the incident or arrest report. Prairie County Sheriff's Office and jail custody staff hold the county booking record and booking photograph. The city publishes no booking-photo form. It lists no fee schedule or turnaround promise. Arkansas FOIA guidance sets a general public-record framework. Exemptions and the facts of each record still apply, so release is never guaranteed.
A written request works best when it is precise. Give the full name, known birth date, arrest date or a narrow date range, and the arresting agency. Say which items you want: the city incident report, the county booking record, the booking photograph, or all three. Ask for electronic delivery if available. Request a written cost estimate too. Ask for the legal basis behind any withheld part, and keep city and county requests separate so each custodian finds its own record.

County booking files go through the Prairie County Sheriff's Office at 200 Court House Sq #101, Des Arc, AR 72040. The Arkansas Sheriffs' Association lists (870) 256-4137 for the office and (870) 256-4138 for the jail. No dedicated records line is labeled. Ask for the Arkansas FOIA custodian.
Des Arc Arrests Use 48 Hours
The county's short-window roster page carries the heading "Inmates Booked in Last 48 Hours." The clock on each entry marks the arrest, not the moment the record appeared online. No fixed posting schedule exists. The sheriff's office offers no app interface and promises no intake lag. Near the rolling cutoff, that gap matters most. A name can drop off the 48-hour view simply because time ran out, even though the booking itself still stands in the county record.
Each card may show a booking photo. It also lists name, race, sex, age, city or address, arrest time, agency, charges, and bond, with court details on some entries. Photo availability varies. Prairie County publishes no written rule promising a mugshot for every arrest or explaining a withholding. Treat the county roster as the public photo source itself rather than copying cards into a gallery.
The official Des Arc police page appears below. It displays the city contact route. It does not turn the municipal site into an arrest feed.
One route works best here. The sheriff's office publishes no Des Arc booking list of its own. Instead, the Prairie County roster serves as the documented channel for bookings and photos.
Des Arc Arrest News Limits
The Grand Prairie Herald covers Des Arc and other Prairie County towns weekly. A story can add real context to a single event. It is not a booking list. Its pictures should not be assumed to be jail mugshots. The city's live feed has a parallel limit. It streams official municipal content. Yet it carries no arrest fields, no photo policy, and no set reporting window.
Commercial sites raise their own issues. Busted Newspaper and RecentlyBooked may index a Des Arc entry. Both are unofficial. Their records can lag, duplicate a booking, or linger after release. Arrests.org posts a statewide Arkansas page but lists no Prairie County section. Mugshots.com and Mugshots.zone carry no Prairie page either. An absence proves nothing. An entry, when found, belongs in a check against the sheriff roster and court file.
The Grand Prairie Herald source page appears below. It is a record of the county news landscape.
The paper earns its place for selected local reporting. It will not tell you who sits in jail tonight. It will not settle how a case ended, either. Those questions belong to county and court systems.
Des Arc Arrest Custody Boundaries
A Des Arc card on the county roster may carry a hold label such as "Hold for U.S. Marshals." That notation adds custody context only. It creates no federal conviction and no public federal booking-photo record. Suspect state prison after sentencing? Use the Arkansas Department of Corrections offender search. Federal custody points to the Bureau of Prisons locator. Immigration detention runs through a separate ICE locator.
Each system answers a different question. Myr2m documents Prairie County booking and current custody views. Arkansas VINE supplies custody status plus notifications. ADC tracks people received into state prison. Search ARCourts follows the case itself. Match the source to the custody stage, and a missing city result stays what it should be: a prompt to look elsewhere, not a conclusion.
